My Journey to Greatness
July 13th, 2008 by ef85So far I have been weightlifting and strength training for 1 yr. I started off lifting so that I could stay in shape for my job in the military. When I started out lifting my body weight was at 115lbs soaking wet. I had only focused on bench press, squat, and dead lift. I did not take into account all of the auxiliary exercises. I remember my first work out like it was yesterday. I was bench pressing 90lbs and doing 3 sets of 5 reps. I squatted 120lbs doing 3 sets of 5 reps also. I did the dead lift with only 85lbs and it was also 3 sets of 5 reps. After going on and deciding to search for ways to improve my strength as well as my endurance, I discovered creatine and a weight training book. The book I got a hold of is from sports workout .com it is targeted for wrestling. Anyway the book helped me get stronger. It did this in two ways. The first way was it gave me a structured plan to stick with. The second way is that I also got charts to keep track of my workouts as well as my body weight. Since I have discovered these tools I have gained 20lbs and my bench press is now 3 sets of 10 reps of 215lbs, my squat is 3 sets of 10 reps of 225lbs and my dead lift is 3 sets of 10 reps of 215lbs. I want to keep on improving my self because I want to wrestle in college next season.
